SV40 has not been present in vaccines for decades, and vaccine production has long since adopted different cell lines and stringent quality checks.

The thread asserts that multiple companies knowingly released live-virus vaccines and scapegoated Cutter because it lacked political influence. Instagram and Facebook reels amplify this by dramatising the government’s “rush” and showing children paralysed, implying that past errors mean today’s vaccines are unsafe. Experts note that the Cutter Incident was a tragic manufacturing lapse that spurred sweeping regulatory reforms and improved oversight.

A viral tweet alleges that doctors reclassified polio cases under names like GuillainBarré syndrome and acute flaccid myelitis, suggesting polio was never eradicated. This conspiracy claims that any neurological disorder is really polio and that vaccinedriven eradication is a fraud. Medical experts reject this: conditions such as GBS and AFM have distinct causes and existed before vaccines; they are not poliovirus infections. Global surveillance shows that wild poliovirus is now confined to Afghanistan and Pakistan, further disproving the claim.

Multilingual posts on Facebook and X are resurrecting the claim that poliomyelitis outbreaks were caused by pesticides like arsenic and DDT, not a virus. Advocates cite a book (Dissolving Illusions) and claim polio “disappeared” when spraying stopped, implying vaccines played no role. Spanish language threads and US influencers share old photos of crop spraying to bolster the theory. The narrative dismisses virological evidence of poliovirus and undermines the reason for immunization.
